No longer should anyone assume where someone is heading when they say they’re heading to Orlando. Universal Studios Orlando has become many families’ favorite Florida destination, and I get it! I’ve been a few times myself and after my recent visit last weekend I just have to shout it from the rafters — Universal Studios Orlando is its own destination!
Here are eight reasons why you should consider a full vacation taking in the glory that is Universal Studios Orlando.
1 – So Many Coasters!
Universal Studios Orlando is known for its rollercoasters! Last weekend I was finally able to experience the Velocicoaster which was incredible.
There’s no feeling like heading out over the water at speeds of 70 mph, inverted so that you feel like you’re going to dip right in. AHHH! It doesn’t stop there, though as Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure also tops my list of favorite rollercoasters.
Not to mention, I also really enjoyed Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, the Incredible Hulk Coaster, and the kid-friendly Flight of the Hippogriff. Should I go on?
2 – Volcano Bay Doesn’t Disappoint
Waterparks alongside big theme parks typically aren’t known to be impressive, but Volcano Bay is just that. From thrilling water slides to relaxing lazy rivers, it offers something for everyone. Plus, the park is famous for its food. Yes, you heard that right – Volcano Bay is a waterpark with good food! When you visit Universal Studios Orlando, be sure to get a 3-park ticket and schedule yourself a day at Volcano Bay.
3 – Express Passes For The Win
Express Passes at Universal Studios Orlando are a great way to maximize your time and get the most out of your visit. With an Express Pass, you’ll be able to skip the regular lines (one time each day) at participating attractions, allowing you to enjoy more rides, shows, and experiences in a shorter amount of time. This can be especially helpful if you’re visiting the park during peak times or with a large group. The Express Unlimited Pass allows you to skip the line as many times as you want. My clients LOVE Express Unlimited Passes because you can pay for it upfront and you can use it to your heart’s content all day. This of course is in contrast to the often-considered confusing Genie+ over at Walt Disney World. It’s so nice to have a pass and just use it. No smartphones needed!
4 – Something For Everyone
Universal Studios Orlando is a great place for kids and adults alike. There are plenty of rides and attractions that are suitable for young children, like E.T. Adventure, Shrek 4D, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster, and the Hogwarts Express. Young kiddos can spend hours in Seuss Landing alone. Plus, there’s also plenty of character meet-and-greets, shows, and interactive play areas that children will love.
5 – The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
How did I go this long without bringing up Harry Potter?!?
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando is a magical experience like no other! Guests can explore Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, two recreations of the iconic locations from the Harry Potter books and films. Guests can ride the Hogwarts Express between the two realms, and also explore iconic shops, restaurants, and attractions such as Ollivanders wand shop, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and The Three Broomsticks. No matter if you’re a die-hard fan or just a casual observer, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is sure to capture your imagination and provide an unforgettable experience! And don’t forget to try the butter beer.
You won’t regret it!
6 – You Can Do It All with a VIP Tour
If you are trying to fit it all in but are afraid you don’t have enough time, consider a VIP Tour. With the VIP Tour, not only can you skip the line (straight to the front of the queue), you can also go behind the scenes and explore the production facilities, learn about the history of the park, and even have exclusive access to some of the most popular rides.
Last weekend I had the privilege of experiencing the Private VIP Tour firsthand and it did not disappoint. Our VIP guide, Logan, somehow managed to herd our group of 12 around the parks, hitting up every single popular attraction we wanted.
Plus, I loved getting the behind the scenes special treatment and fun facts. Private VIP Tours at Universal Studios Orlando include a breakfast buffet and your choice of lunch in the parks. How delicious does this salad look that I got at Finnegan’s during our VIP Tour?
When you add up the cost of Express Passes, tickets, and food, you’ll see that you actually aren’t paying much more for this luxury treatment!
7 – A Premiere Resort Stay INCLUDES Express Unlimited Passes
When you stay at a Universal Studios Orlando Premier Hotel, you’ll not only enjoy a beautiful resort with resort-style pools, you’ll also get exclusive benefits like early park admission, complimentary transportation to and from the theme park, discounts on dining and merchandise, and drum roll please … Universal Express Unlimited Passes! This is often a no-brainer for families as the premiere hotels price very well.
Hard Rock Hotel is a great choice for those who want to be as close as possible to all the action in the parks and want a fun, energetic vibe. Portofino Bay Hotel takes you right to Italy, providing a quiet escape from all the excitement, and the recently-updated Royal Pacific Hotel will wow you with its brand new lobby and rooms.
Can you tell I had an absolute blast in the parks and touring the hotels at Universal Studios Orlando last week? I’d love to hear your Universal Studios thoughts and of course reach out with any questions about this incredible destination!
Love the Premium resorts!
